As part of the collector coin series honouring Hungarian Nobel Prize winners, the Magyar Nemzeti Bank issued a 5000-forint silver and a 2000-forint non-ferrous coin, marking the chemist Richard Zsigmondy’s 150th birthday and 90th anniversary of receiving the Nobel Prize. The coin was designed by Fanni Király. The front depicts an ultramicroscope receiving light rays from the side, the obverse bears a portrait of the scientist. The coin has a special oval shape, alike the other parts of the Nobel Prize winners coin series.
